Help Us End Homelessness for Local Veterans Posted in Practice News After selflessly serving the United States all over the world, many veterans return home only to find themselves without just that – a home. In an effort to help end homelessness among veterans here in our own community, Bethesda Sedation Dentistry is taking part in a humanitarian project called “Operation Homecoming”. Sponsored by the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and Saint Peter’s Parish in Olney, MD, the “Operation Homecoming” program asks volunteers to create a Welcome Home Kit comprised of various essentials necessary to make a veteran’s transition from homelessness into a new, permanent home as seamless as possible. To aid our practice in putting together a Welcome Home Kit for this noble cause, we are asking interested patients to make a modest donation of $10 that will be used to purchase furniture, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, linens, toiletries, basic food supplies, and other items that can help get veterans on their feet. As an expression of our gratitude, every individual who makes a ten dollar donation will be eligible for a chance to win a gift basket filled with an electric toothbrush, air flosser, toothpaste, and mouthwash – the combination of which is valued at $350! Veterans sacrifice their lives in service for us; the least we can do is help show our appreciation by being of service to them. For more information about “Operation Homecoming”, click here.
