Home| About Our Office|Patient Resources|Common Questions What makes your practice different from the others? We take pride in offering the best dental treatment options in the Bethesda area. Everyone on our team is committed to treating you with warmth and friendliness so you will feel as comfortable as possible at our practice. Dr. Deborah Klotz and Dr. Robert Schlossberg are extensively trained and experienced, and they will listen intently to your needs. In addition to the cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry options we provide, Bethesda Sedation Dentistry also offers advanced sedation dentistry techniques to help you attain the most pleasant treatment experience possible. I don’t enjoy going to the dentist. What can you do to help me relax? Our practice offers many solutions that will allow you to relax and receive dental treatment in the most comfortable way possible. One of the ways we can ease our patients’ anxieties is sedation dentistry. Considered two of the top dentists in the Washington D.C. area, our doctors have trained with many of the leading dental sedation specialists in the country. They can talk with you in depth at your appointment and determine the best option for your needs. With sedation dentistry, you can enjoy a relaxing treatment – we’ve found that in most cases, you even may fall asleep during the procedure! How do you keep up-to-date on all of the new and advanced dental technologies and techniques? Our dental team values education and understands the importance of staying abreast of the latest dental procedures, techniques, and materials. Dr. Deb and Dr. Rob have studied at prestigious dental institutions such as the Misch Implant Institute, and they belong to a number of respected dental organizations. They are also certified in IV sedation and oral sedation techniques, and frequently attend continuing dental education courses. Do you accept my insurance plan? To provide you with what we consider the very best clinical care, we are not network providers with any insurance company. This means that we can recommend the procedures we deem best for your case, regardless of what your insurance will pay for. Insurance companies place limits on coverage and will reimburse for set fees. An insurance company will only pay for “reasonable and customary fees.” These fees are based on an average price charged by a range of dental clinics and practices. They don’t factor in the personalized care, excellent service, high quality materials, and amenities you enjoy at our office. We would be happy to provide you with a universal insurance form for your care. You can submit the form to your insurance company for reimbursement. What different payment options do you provide? We offer excellent dental financing arrangements through CareCredit®, which has a variety of financing options. There is a very simple application process, and the response is usually received within minutes of filing the application. I don't like drills, are there any other options? We are constantly incorporating the latest proven materials, techniques and equipment. The instruments we are currently using for most tooth shaping and preparing are the latest technology available from KAVO dental. These electronic devices have only recently become available, and we are fortunate to be able to include them as a key part of our practice. What do I do if I have a dental emergency and the office is closed? For dental emergencies, please call (410) 905-0104 so you can receive instructions on how to reach one of our dentists. Instructions for a Loose or Lost Tooth If you have a loose tooth, please leave it in place until you can see one of our dentists. If it is unattached but still inside the mouth, please try to hold it in place, if possible. Try not to touch, scrub, or disinfect the tooth if it has completely fallen out of your mouth, and try not to let it dry out. Please do not remove any tissues that are attached to the tooth. If it has fallen onto a soiled area, you can rinse it off in warm water and place it in a glass of milk until one of our dentists has met with you. A lukewarm glass of water will suffice if milk is not available. We can attempt to re-implant a tooth that has fallen out; however, the sooner you schedule an appointment, the higher your chances of it being successful. What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety? We take patient safety very seriously—it is our number one priority. Everyone on our dental team is aware of the latest sterilization and health guidelines to maintain the highest standards of infection control. All dental instruments are sterilized after a patient’s procedure, and we attend continuing education courses each year to learn about recent updates and advances in sterilization and safety protocols. Many of our team members have also undergone training and certification courses for Advanced Cardiac Life Support. I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend? Starting with healthy teeth and gums, we can perfect your smile through porcelain restorations, dental veneers, teeth whitening, and other state-of-the-art treatments. Unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry isn’t a major operation. Imagine coming in for a single appointment or two and emerging with the smile you’ve always wanted with minimal discomfort, no strain, no time taken away from your busy life. The results are immediate and dramatic.
